This article is from my November newsletter. If you would like to receive the full newsletter, you can sign up for my list on the first page of this site. You will receive a monthly newsletter and quarterly What’s on Sale edition.

Just for fun, between now and the end of the year, I will list one item for sale at random times so check back often!

Once a year I teach for Randal Churchill’s Hypnotherapy Training Institute in Corte Madera. He always has a phenomenal group of students from all over the world.

When I lived in Northern California it was a more simple process — drive to the Bay area, teach, drive home.

However, now that I live and work in San Diego it’s more complicated. Fly to Oakland, rent a car, drive to Corte Madera, spend the night, teach, drive back to Oakland, spend the night, fly home. It’s actually even more complicated than that but I won’t bore you with ALL the details.

And, as it sometimes happens, travel can be… well, let’s say, interesting. Another opportunity to be patient and trust.

Everything went well until I left Corte Madera to drive back to Oakland when my smart phone message: “searching for gps” seemed as it if would never end.

I called my friend for directions and started driving, expecting the gps to catch up with me. Nope. Have you noticed how everything looks different at night? I was sure that I had been driving for 30 minutes and had probably missed Oakland all together. But when I looked at the clock I had been on the road for 12 minutes. Yep. 12. Time distortion.

So, I got off the freeway as soon as I hit the first exit in Oakland. The gps couldn’t locate my position. What?? I don’t know where I am! Of course, another call and my friend guided me to her house.

The next morning I was concerned about getting back to the rental car place, in the rain, with not enough sleep and using written directions in case the gps still didn’t know where I was.

So, when I got in the car I asked for help. I wanted… the pouring rain to stop… the gps to work… to find a convenient gas station… to be on time for my flight…

So I asked. When I pulled away from the curb the gps worked perfectly, the rain stopped… in other words, everything started to shift.

In fact, a nice Hertz employee personally drove me to the terminal saving me a trip on the shuttle bus. A Southwest employee guided me to the medical line for security (I walk with a cane). People went out of their way to be helpful.

I think I’ll ask more often. It’s such a simple thing but sometimes I just don’t remember to do it.

If you would like to ask your subconscious to help you to improve your life I am offering a discount through the end of November. Call me for your free 20 minute phone consultation.
